Please read these terms before using StorySpins. By creating an account or starting a free trial, you agree to be bound by them.
1. Who we are
StorySpins is operated by StorySpins, a company registered in England and Wales. References to "StorySpins", "we", "us", or "our" in these terms refer to StorySpins. You can contact us at hello@storyspins.com.
2. Who can use StorySpins
You must be at least 18 years old and a parent or legal guardian to create a StorySpins account. The service is intended for use by parents and guardians on behalf of children aged 3–12. By signing up, you confirm that you are an adult with the authority to enter into this agreement.
StorySpins is not available to persons under the age of 18, and children must not create accounts themselves.
3. The service
StorySpins delivers a personalised bedtime story to your email address each day, based on a profile of your child that you create. Stories are generated using artificial intelligence and are intended for personal, non-commercial use within your household.
We reserve the right to modify, update, or improve the service at any time. We will notify you of any material changes that affect your subscription.
4. Free trial
New subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. During the trial:
- Your payment method is saved but not charged
- You have full access to the service
- You may cancel at any time before the trial ends without being charged
If you do not cancel before the end of your 7-day trial, your payment method will be charged the monthly subscription fee and your subscription will begin automatically.
5. Subscription and billing
After your free trial, StorySpins is billed at £4.99 per month (or such other price as we may notify you of in advance). Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. By providing your payment information, you authorise us to charge the applicable subscription fee on a recurring monthly basis.
If a payment fails, we will attempt to contact you. Access to the service may be suspended if payment cannot be collected after reasonable attempts.
6. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access to the service and your saved stories until that date.
We do not charge cancellation fees. There are no lock-in periods.
7. Refunds
We do not offer refunds for partial months or unused story deliveries. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at hello@storyspins.com and we will review your case promptly.
Your statutory rights under UK consumer law are not affected by these terms. If you are a UK consumer, you have a 14-day right to cancel from the date of purchase. By using the service (receiving stories) within that period, you acknowledge that you have requested early performance of the service and agree that your cancellation right applies only to unused days.
8. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Please notify us immediately at hello@storyspins.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
You may only hold one active account per household. We reserve the right to close duplicate accounts.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share your account with people outside your household
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit stories generated by StorySpins
- Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or replicate the service
- Submit false or misleading information about your child for story generation
- Use the service in any way that violates applicable law
10. Intellectual property
Stories generated by StorySpins are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may download, print, and share individual stories with family members. You may not republish, sell, or use stories commercially without our prior written consent.
The StorySpins name, logo, website, and underlying technology remain the intellectual property of StorySpins.
11. Content you provide
Information you share about your child (name, interests, friends, etc.) is used solely to personalise stories. By providing this information, you confirm that you have the right to do so as the child's parent or legal guardian.
We do not claim any ownership over the information you provide. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle this data.
12. Disclaimer
StorySpins stories are generated by artificial intelligence for entertainment and bedtime reading purposes. They are not educational curricula, therapeutic content, or professional advice of any kind.
While we apply safety checks to all stories before delivery, we cannot guarantee that every story will be perfectly suited to every child's individual sensitivities. You remain responsible for supervising your child's use of the service.
The service is provided "as is". We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, though we will make reasonable efforts to maintain a reliable service.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StorySpins's total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of StorySpins shall not exceed the total subscription fees you have paid in the 3 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we reasonably believe continued access poses a risk to other users or our service. We will notify you unless doing so is not practicable or lawful.
Upon termination, your right to access the service ends. Saved stories will be available to download for 30 days following termination, after which they will be deleted.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of StorySpins after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
The date at the top of this page reflects the version currently in effect.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you may also have rights under the law of the country in which you reside, which these terms do not override.
